I cut Japanese Willoe branches to use in my weaving. Can you tell me how long I need to season the branches before using them?

I'm not familiar with Japanese Willow and I'm not sure what size the willow is but if you give it a month or so, it should have dried enough. If you want nice straight pieces to incorporate into your weaving sooner then later, you could always speed dry it inside in a warm sunny spot. I think you'll be able to tell when they are ready to incorporate. If they are not too large in diameter the shrinking may be negligible so it may be safe to use somewhat fresh. Also note that the colour of the willow may change during the drying process. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for responding. The. branches I cut are less than 1/4” in diameter. I’m planning to weave a piece I can use as a wall hanging. I’ll let you know how it goes.
