HI..I seem to have hit a blank spot in my brain. I've woven off quite a bit of the sampler and understand the 5 pick/3 pick change when we encounter 2 blocks with same tabby. However I am stuck on sample #8.

With my rising shed loom, the weft floats in B would be 27272, followed by 3 picks Warps floats in A ..525....
This is where I hit a wall. Weft floats in A would be 18181....a 5 pick sequence. However,...if I follow the preceding "5" with a "1".does not work as there are basically 2 picks in the same shed. If I start the 5 picks with 8 (81818) I would have 3 floats, not what I want.

What am I not understanding? Thank you....

Old Weaver...apparently old brain....

Hi Karen, this is another old weaver, with an old brain and if I don't have it on a loom in front of me, I'm useless. I think you need another tabby in between. Try that and see if that works. I would have to put this all in Fiberworks to really see it and I don't have time today and to tell you the truth it will take me a long time to do that, LOL.....let me know if the extra tabby sorts it out. Awesome....girls, I will amend the pattern adding that you need the extra tabby....but it is also really good to see it and figure it out. Huck is tabby centric...you have to have the right tabbies with the right pattern treadle. Sorry for the error.

Hi Karen and Frances......I knew I had figured this out before but couldn't find it for the life of me yesterday. I addressed it in the Forum under Huck Lace. If you go to the forum page and click on all forums, the space will drop down and you can see all the questions about this sample...I will get Ginette to make that change to the pattern right away. Again...I'm sorry for the confusion but on the other hand, when we come up against these problems you have the tools to figure it out and that is what were aiming for. Yay....hope you are okay with it all.

Thank you..I didn't mean to cause a fuss. It's actually good to know the "contracting" of that pick sequence is not always the same same...hmmm...where have I heard that.
I just wasn't certain if we were actually being forced to think...or was this a trick Jane?..... I wondered. At any rate, I'm usually a twill person and am loving loving this lace season...thank you so much.

I am now able to get back to my loom. I have a jack loom and I am finding the pattern to be on the bottom side of the weave. This happened on version 2, Can you explain again why this is happening?

Also, I have six treadles and have found myself getting under the loom to rearrange the tie-ups on the treadles. Does anyone have an easier solution for six treadles...... I like the idea of having all the options like Jane wrote on the mother of all tie-ups but this is not working for me. I hope this question did not come up before.

I am stuck on Version #4 - Lace floats in A then Warp floats in A - so am not sure how to tie down the floats - they just keep growing! Do I need another tabby inbetween ?? Many thanks
