I can see Jane alternately going under and over the selvidge on right side - is it the opposite on the left side ie over on right under on left? And via versa?
Selvidges
Hi Michelle - just alternate your selvedge under and over on each side of your project. That way your floating selvedges will be secured on the edge of your cloth on both sides of your cloth. Relax, it becomes a habit when you weave with floating selvedges ;-)
Thank you. So it doesn’t matter if you go under both on one pick then over both on next pick?
Hi Michelle - I remember it the way Jane teaches it in one of the videos (probably the first twill lesson) .She has you go over the floating selvedge thread with the tip of your shuttle when entering the shed, and going under the floating selvedge coming out by lifting it slightly with your receiving hand. I’m a beginner, but by sticking to this I find it second nature and don’t even think about it. I hope this helps!
Thank you. That has clarified my mind. Off I go to twill!
