Hi,
I just received an 8-shaft table loom with a couple of yards of the Garibaldi Flats tea towel warp ready to weave. The pattern doesn't include floating selvedges for the 8-shaft version. The plain weave is fine but when I switch to twill (following the pattern) it is not catching on the selvedges. I am new to 8-shaft weaving and wondering if I am not understanding something basic. Thank you in advance!

Sorry for the delay, Josephine. If you are having an issue with the selvedges, you can always add one on each side. If your heddles are texsolv, you can easily but carefully, cut both heddles (one on each side) freeing that thread to act as a floating selvedge. If you have metal heddles, you can add an extra thread on each side to act as floating selvedges. Check Season 1.5.3 - Adding a Floating Selvedge where Jane demonstrates her process.
