I bought the kit for the episode 4 last night but did not realize the width for the 408 threads at the epi of 12 is 36’ much wider than my loom of 20. When I called JST their suggestion was to remove one repeat from each section which is still wider than my loom. I’m not sure the effect would be with reducing the repeats for each section to get about 20” . I would have to remove almost half of each section. Has anyone tried reductions or even changing the sett from 12 to 20?
Hi Nancy, so sorry you didn’t notice the width of the kit project before you ordered it. A couple of ideas came to mind …. You could make nice, sturdy, placemats with the 8/4 cotton that is on its way to you. You could change the sett to make firm placemats by setting your warp at 15-16 epi. If your loom has toggles instead of treadles - you can weave different twills on each placemat. Also, you could return the kit and choose something that fits your loom - it looks like the rest of the kits in Season 4 would be fine.
