Hi Claire - there are a number of books on finishing your handwovens. The one I have and refer to if I want to do something special is an oldie but goodie - Finishing Touches for the Handweaver by Virginia M West. Your local library might have it.

I just finished several weft-faced pieces and found Jane's video on how to do Italian hemstitching so helpful. The PDF was confusing, though, and I made my own diagram of how to do it. I hope it will be helpful in the event you got confused, too.
