S4-Episode 6 - Colour & Weave meets Twill
Hello there. I'm working on a louet spring II loom. Doing the colour and weave meets twill gamp, and loving it btw.
Question: weft faced tie up on the counter marche....it is 123/234/341/412....right??
When I do the basket weave part of the gamp it leaves out the far right warp thread making me think I must be doing something wrong.
Full disclosure, I originally tied up for weft faced with 1/2/3/4 and did the gamp and it left out the far left thread! LOL.
I do realize that these tie ups are opposite and if I turn the piece over it gives me the other version, but I wanted to have the weft faced 'on top' while I was working.
So the edge threads?? Is that to be expected or am I missing something?

Hi Leslie - here's an article from the Knowledge Base that might help - https://janestaffordtextiles.com/knowledge-base/rising-shed-sinking-shed-which-tie-up-do-i-use/
Thanks Sandra. Super helpful. I feel kinda dopey because it seems so obvious now after reading the article.
Hey Sandra,
Clearly I don't understand how to do basket weave while in warp faced tie up on my spring 11. My tie ups are 123/234/341/412. Can you please clarify how I do basket weave for warp faced? Or is it even possible. Do I have to do a 2/2 tie up for the basketweave section that sits in-between sections of warp faced? Eeks, hopefully this isn't a really stupid question:)
thanks Leslie
If you look at the 2/2 tie-up at the bottom of page 2 of the handout - you'll see the treadling for the 2/2 tie-up which gives you Basket Weave. You must have enough treadles on your fabulous loom to add the 2/2 tie-up so you can do everything!
