S4-Episode 3 - Small Threadings Twill Gamp
Hi. at about 45:20, Jane talked about changing treading to warp faced twill. I could not understand how she changed tie-up. Can I find some instructions?
The instructions are all in your Twills on 4 handout that you can find in episode 1. Have you had a chance to practice doing all the drawdowns on the graph paper that are available in that helpful handout? You will understand what is happening with your tie-ups once you've had a chance to "play" on paper.
Thank you. I did play a bit, but did not finish. I will rewatch and do with pen.
It was suggested that I share my use of broken twill to liven up a 2/2 twill double weave blanket. Threading sections as reversed broken twill let me have some visual interest without messing up my selvedges (which were designed to not need floating selvedges because... double width-double weave.
Here's my Rav project page for one of those blankets:

I can't find the PDF referred to in this episode. Jane mentions page 7 of the handout which contains the blank drawdowns for us to fill in. The only file with this lesson is the 5 page handout for the Small Threadings Gamp. .
You’ll find them in the Introduction to Twills handout in Episode 1 of Season 4. You can print this package out and put it in a binder, adding new pages as you watch each episode. At the end of Season 4 you will have a useful binder full of information on designing Twills!
can someone help me understand how to convert this for a table loom? it feels like that should be easy to figure out but I'm stumped
How wide is your table loom, is that what you are concerned about?
no the treadling. I have a floor loom so I understand the tie up and treadling but I'm new to table looms so the tie up is n/a. so for a 2-2 tie up and tromp as writ on a floor loom for this draft is it just the tie up inverted? is this correct:
treadle 1 = lift shaft 1 and 2,
treadle 2 = lift shaft 2 and 3,
treadle 3 = lift shaft 3 and 4,
treadle 4 = lift shaft 1 and 4?
You've got it!
Point Twill threadings on a Mighty Wolf. As I was about to thread the Season 4, Episode 4 Point Twill gamp/blanket, I realized that I needed to know how many heddles I need for each shaft for the RIGHT half of the fabric since Mightly Wolf has that annoying divider in the middle of each shaft. I did count the heddles for each shaft, but Since the shredding draft is not symmetrical due to to the design, that won't answer the question. What is the best way to do this?
I just realized I missed your question! I hope by now you have solved your problem and are happily weaving away. If not - I would just sley your warp where the twill block changes to a new block. Your warp would only be a few ends off centre and you won’t likely notice it in your weaving and certainly not after your cloth is finished.
