Hello,
Can anyone suggest a good sett for using 3/2 cotton yarn as a blanket?
I was given some gorgeous colors of 3/2 cotton yarn as a Christmas gift. I want to use it by making something for myself so thought I'd make a doubleweave throw blanket but I can't find any blanket patterns using that yarn to copy the sett. Any suggestions for a sett will be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Sheryl, we don't carry 3/2 cotton so I looked it up on Handwoven's Master Sett Chart and they suggest 3/2 organic cotton; 1,260 yd/lb (2,442 m/kg); 10, 14, 16 (range of setts—from wide as for lace weaves, medium as for plain weave, and close as for twills).
Please share your project when you get it done. I am curious about the outcome. I love making double weave blankets, though all of mine have been with some combination of alpaca, merino super wash and Harrisville Shetland, so different setts.
