I finished the placemats for my niece. She wanted them all to match. It was strange to weave the same pattern over and over after usually weaving one of each for the JST episodes. These are from Season 5 Episode 9, based on placemat #5.

Interestingly, the blue 8/4 Brassard cotton packed down more than the charcoal 8/4 Brassard cotton, and the shrinkage for the placemats after washing and drying was 20%…much more than the 8/2 cotton I’ve been weaving with. This would have been a perfect project for using a temple if I had one LOL.

I have the problem that some tie up cords from shaft 8, upper lamm, are going downwards from their screw and around the treadle and I had to re tie up some cords several times because they slipped off their screw. (Hope this is understandable, quite difficult to explain in english, sorry)

What could I do to prevent this? I weave on a SpringII

and as you can see, I just made a mistake and forgot to put the second grey divider. Starting now to unweave🤣

Very beautiful...I have this project on my David 3 right now.

OK, wish me luck, weaving friends! This is the widest project I've ever done. It's 540 ends, and it's taken me literally all day to thread the heddles, tie up the treadles, sley and lash on. So far everything has gone well. Fingers crossed, knock on wood, and any other superstitious gestures you can think of. If this works it will be a baby blanket in superwash wool, with a sheep motif on the borders. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I am thinking about doing the third scarf with two different motives over 10 treadles. But first I have to try if I can manage to change the two tabbys from left to right foot to get to treadle 1 and 2 with the left foot without loosing overview. Sooo much to learn!
