Season 6 Episode 2 - 8 Shaft Twill Blocks and Tie-up Quadrants

Season 6 Episode 2 - 8 Shaft Twill Blocks and Tie-up Quadrants

There are so many possibilities on one warp if we know how to play with the tie-up box. I know some of you hate getting underneath your loom to change your tie-up. But...when you think about how long that really takes...like maybe 1/2 an hour...and, if your warp is long enough, you can get so many more options while you weave it. A tie-up change takes much less time than making a new warp and redressing your loom.

This project adds 6 more tie-ups to the 6 we learned last year. The graphic is so much fun, the colour play is fantastic. The warp colours are from the simple supplementary project in Season 3 and I used the colours from Parrot in Season 2 for the weft. Graphically, we use everything from Colour and Design. Overlay, overlay, overlay.

I know that not all of you have 8 shaft looms but don't fret, for you kids out there with 4 shafts, imagine the fun you could have playing with all the ideas from Season 2 on this warp. You would have a lot to work with, the warp could stay the same and you could weave it in 2/2 twill, or plain weave, or plain weave with 2/2 twill, or 1/3 & 3/1 twill. Go back and re-watch Season 4 Episode 1...where we do the Twill & Simple Two Stripe Sample...if you play with those ideas on this warp, you'll be over the moon.
