In Season 8, episode 3 (deflected doubleweave), when talking about the 8 shaft sampler, Jane suggests using something other than Zephyr for this. I really like this idea, because of the cost of Zephyr, as she says. My question is about sett: if I were to use Merino, what sett would you suggest? Same if I were to use cotton, 8/2 or 16/2???? Thank you.

I just finished a deflected doubleweave sampler in 8/2 cotton and use my typical PW sett of 18. It is a bit loose but lovely drape for a scarf. I also did a sampler in 8/4 and sett it slightly above PW but it turned out really stiff, so from now on I will just use PW setts for deflected double weave.
