Just a thought about the draft Jane mentions in episode 6.6.2 "Scandinavian Favorite" from Marguerite Porter Davison's "A Handweaver's Pattern Book".
As I was watching I was thinking about the differences between draft styles for North America and Sweden. To me, it looks like this draft was written as if the treadles and shafts were numbered in the Swedish fashion but with the threading at the top instead of the bottom like it would be for a full Swedish-style draft. Still reading right-to-left, if you number the shafts 1-4 starting at the back of the loom the first unit is is unit A with 1-2-3-2 and the other units follow just as you would expect. No consideration of back-to-front or front-to-back warping of the loom, just a conceptual change to the numbering of the shafts.
Does this seem plausible?
