Sandra, not a stupid question at all 😉. But yes, it’s all threaded through the eyes of the heddles; I’ve been able to complete one scarf on that warp. And I have checked the tie-ups and adjusted and readjusted. Still not consistent. Thank you for your response!

I know this is probably a stupid question on my part but....... have you double-checked to see if you have threaded the sections that are wanting to "do their own thing" through the heddle eyes? I'm assuming that you've checked your tie-up cords and they are all the same length and operating happily.

I hadn’t thought about the beater height; and yes, I can adjust a notch higher. I have had it on that setting in the past and the beater doesn’t want to do a solid beat on the warp at the cloth beam, but it’s certainly worth a try. I’ll do that. As far as the tie ups, my loom uses chains between the treadles and lamms. They tend to slip off (i know—how does that happen!) or kink up and I’m always checking on that and the cords at at the top. Thank you for your help. You’ve been invaluable for me, as I have never been able to attend a class on weaving. Your courses are just wonderful!

Yay--I finished both scarves and they are both very nice! I don't know if it was all b/c of raising the beater, but whatever it was, I had a smoother weaving experience on scarf #2. I had all kinds of knick-knacks hanging from the back of the loom due to tension descrepancies, and a broken thread, but got it done and off the loom. Thank you so much for your help. It's just nice knowing I have people to ask when I run into a problem. I'll attach a few photos; it looks like I can't do it with a "reply" but only with an initial question/comment?
