Hi Jane,
I have a Macomber loom with 10 shafts and 16 treadles and would like to weave the 8 shaft turned twill from season 5, episode 1 . On your video you demonstrate a tie up for 12 shafts using a countermarch loom. Since my Macomber is arising shed loom would the tie up be the same for all of the samples or would I have to modify the tie up on the additional 4 shafts. Thanks. Diane
turned twill on 12 shafts
Hi Diane, you lucky girl, you have all those treadles. A weavers dream. The tie-ups in the pdf are for rising shed looms. I wove it on a counter-marche but that doesn’t change anything, I just had to tie-up 2 sets of lamms. In the episode and the lecture I show all the way you can tie-up the treadles. I used 3 of them with my 12 treadles. You could do all of them and have even more fun. Go and look at the pdf and choose whatever you want to tie-up :)
Hope this helps,
THANK YOU JANE! I just finished the canvas weave and huck episodes but wanted to do something on 8 shafts before going on. Also I'm so pleased I just got a new shipment of yarn and a couple of kits from your store so I have plenty to keep me busy for a long long time. I so much appreciate your episodes and teaching. Thanks,
Diane
You are most welcome Diane, happy weaving, :)
