Jane did state in Episode 2.4 of Season 3 to only put 2 threads into the first dent and last dent. Patterns says 24 ends and 4 per dent on ends but if I take 2 ends on both sides out of the total 24 ends, I won't get 4 threads per dent.

Questions: Do we add in 2 extra threads for the 2 outer dents and still keep our total 24 threads , 4 per dent?

Hi Cynthia,

You could add 2 extra threads at each end when you make your warp and keep your other 24 threads at 4 per dent or do what Jane did in this video at the 2:48 mark. She cut the 2 threads out of the first and last dent and that helped to reduce the density on the sides. Either way, if you find your selvedges are too dense, cut those couple threads out and hang them on the back of the loom. Both ways will work. It so much easier to pull threads right out if you need to fix your selvedges.
