I have 12/2 linen instead of 12/4. I am going to make coasters instead of hot plates, so warp will be only 5" wide instead of 10." Should I still do 5 epi with 12/2? I could double it to get the 12/4. I also thought about doing a different sett (6 or 8 epi). To add to this confusion, I am not using the suggested wool weft, as you were out of stock when I placed my order. Going to try using assorted stash yarns to practice the patterns. Thanks for input on winding the warp and dressing the loom.

You can certainly use the 12/2 which will make nice coasters - not being as heavy an item as a hot plate. Because you using a variety of wool from your stash, it would be best to do a ruler wrap to see what your sett would be and then keep to the same size of wool for all the coasters. Of course, you could cut off and increase the sett if you chose to use a thicker wool partway through your warp. This is a situation where sampling and finishing one coaster to see if you like the result, might be the best way to approach your project! Happy weaving.
