Hello! I would like to substitute some of my stash yarn in the double weave shawl. I have some Harrisville shetland, but would like to use the Quebecoise wool and some La Jolla superwash merino wool for the smaller stripes. In your opinion, would this work ok? The Quebecoise is a tad bit thicker and the merino is a tad thinner than the Harrisville shetland. Thanks for your help!
You can use whatever yarn you wish to - there are no rules ;-) Just make sure that you do the ruler wrap to get the sett right so that your warp is happy moving through your heddles and your reed.
I just had to slap myself reading this. I have loads of Alice Starmore Hebridean yarn that is similar to Harrisville. Duh!
Thanks for the reminder, Sandra!🥰
