I have a Gilmore Little Gem with a max width of 23" in the reed, 276 ends at 12 epi. Do I remove threads from 1 edge? Remove half the number from each side? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I am a very new weaver, this is my 4th warp, that I made 12 yards long. It went on fine and I've woven through the first 8 yards and having lots of fun. Now the question is, should I just finish this warp at 18epi and then put on a second warp designed for 12 epi, as I need to remove so many ends?
Thanks for the input!
The first gamp you wove will likely be your go-to sample for years when you want to add Colour & Weave to any cloth you are designing. When you open up your sett and weave the next gamp - you are opening up other possibilities. Since you already have the 1st sample - why not choose 2 sections and remove them? Less complicated and you still will have a nice sample to show you what happens when you open up your sett and use a different yarn as the weft. Don't put on another warp at 12 epi - that defeats the magic that can happen when you learn what you can do with the warp you already have on the loom.
