I am excited to try the Cannele project but I do not want to make cushion covers. I thought I'd like to make some colorful kitchen towels but I think I would need to change the sett (not sure since this is a new structure to me). Am thinking maybe 20 epi. Has anyone else changed the sett?
Although now that I think about it maybe kitchen towels are not a good idea -the floats in cannele would probably catch on things.

Hi! The sett given for the cushion colours was 20 epi, and the samples were woven at a little less than that in ppi, around 16 ppi. You could open the sett up a little more to 18 epi or even 16 epi if you want more drape, but I would suggest sampling first to make sure you are happy with your fabric. And you could make one sided towels, in that they have a decorative side with the weft floats and a more practical drying side with just the warp floats, so long as you keep your warp floats to a reasonable length. Just make the cells smaller! Try a sample warp and see what you think, you might be delighted with the resulting fabric.
