Loved the show and tell bath towels S10E3 by Sharon B. I would like to replicate. Can you please confirm that they were woven with bouclé thick and 16/2 thin. As i understand Rebecca mentions 3 picks of bouclé for every 16/2 PW @ 16EPI for squishiness? Is this correct? Would Sharon B share her pattern? Thank you for such an inspiring episode
Jocelyne,
I can now confirm that Sharon warped with tripled boucle cotton as thick and with 16/2 as thin.
As she wove the towels, Sharon was playing at the loom, so didn't have a draft and did not keep any notes. She did have a plan for her warp colour placement and use of blocks, but didn't retain the information. She said weaving without an advance plan and just making decisions at the loom was very freeing, and lots of fun.
It was a four shaft draft, so had just the two pattern blocks to work with when planning the warp. The pattern play she got from them was amazing! You can create your own playful towels in the same manner, just sketching out where you want the blocks and the colours to go, making a warp, and heading to the loom. Have fun creating one of a kind bath towels!
