Season 10, Episode 2 - Honeycomb 2
I am definitely going to be weaving this project. Such a great time to whip out my 9 dent reed !!
1st step...I will have to make the blocks narrower as my two dogs and two cats would quickly destroy cushions with those long floats.
2nd step...go through yarn buckets and choose colors for 8/2 cottons.
3rd step...put together a Cotton Cloud order...what fun
Hi Cheryl,
I had so much fun playing with these ideas. You'll love it and I hope you post some pictures :)
Does anyone know what episode Jane demonstrated how to remove
A weaving piece from tje loom and reatrattach using flour paste ?
I've got my order placed for Cotton Cloud colors and one color of 16/2. I am using this window from church for my inspiration. I think my most favorite season (color wise) on the School of Weaving was Season 3 where Jane used a page from a magazine for the colors used throughout the season. They were my kind of colors.

That's a beautiful inspirational stained glass with vibrant colours Cheryl. Can't wait to see your project :)
I am really impressed with this episode 2, but I have one dumb question and one sensible question.
1. When you discuss the PDF information, is "A" one weft colour and "B" another different weft colour?
2.
Hi Joy, A’s are when you are treadling the A cell which is treadled on 2 treadles…one treadle is tied up to just 1 and the other treadle is tied up to just 2…..they will weave plain weave where we have 1 and 2’s threaded on the shafts. B’s are when you are treadling the B cell which is treadled on 2 different treadles. They are tied up to 3 and 4 and when you treadled those we get plain weave weaving where we have 3 & 4 threaded on the shafts. These 2 options make 2 little plain weave cells. What how I weave it at the loom, that might help.

2. My sensible question is: Can I use mop cotton for the thick yarn?
This is where sampling comes in so handy Joy. You could put on a warp and try mop cotton for a few inches. You could try multiple strands of 8/4 or 8/2….see how you like them. Try multiple strands of boucle. I have a section in the video where I show my sampling and I wrote on stickers what I liked and didn’t like. The episode strays so far off the beaten honeycomb path. That’s why I enjoyed it so much.
I hope this helps. :)
