I am having a time with my latest project....tencel scarves. The left side edge is PERFECT. The right side is a mess. It feels a bit looser on the far right and I have also now six broken threads from that section. The weaving on that right side pulls up....so it is not a straight line across.
I have been mostly weaving with cotton and have not had any problems. I suspect the warp is a bit longer in that section. When I weighted it, then I had more threads break.
Any advice?
Often weavers find that one side of their weaving is "better" than the other - it does take practice and being aware of it to improve and you are ;-) How have you added weight to the right side in a way that puts even weight on that section. Tencel is a more slippery thread which might be partly what's happening. When you "walked" your hand across the warp when you were tying on, did it feel the same all across the warp? Sorry - lots of questions......
Definitely looser on the right. I'm trying to weight it. It may be ok now. I moved the reed a teensy bit and so far, no more broken threads
