Hello people sorry if I am going to make a dumb question but I just bought a Louet Jane Loom and I am quite lost.
Unfortunately where I live there are none to ask about so I rely on online tutorials only.
My Jane just arrived and I am trying to understand how to warp it, unfortunately there are no tutorials about that specific loom. I have read someone here saying there should have been a DVD coming with the loom but probably they are not giving it anymore.
The only thing I found is a PDF where Jane Stafford warp Jane Loom with few photos, some photo is too close and some just cut out some important detail, so it does not really help people like me who is totally unexperienced.
For example the first issue I see is that she is warping by using a rod which is not included in my Jane Loom...
Is that necessary? Is there a video tutorial about warping a Jane Loom smewhere? Thank you for any help :)
There isn't a DVD for warping the Jane Loom....... You'd be able to use the information you found if you could buy a ½ in stainless steel rod that would fit your loom. Most hardware stores carry rods and hopefully would be willing to cut it for you.
Hello Sandra ty for reply :)
Jane Stafford mentioned about a Dvd (she mention it in the PDF itself too) a while ago, probably Louet took it off as it is outdated. I will go searching for the rod!
Though the instruction in the PDF are still confusing for me, I really hope someone experienced will take the bother to make a video about that.

Not sure this this might be of some help:-
this video demonstrates warping the Louet Jane loom using LoftyFiber's Helping Hands and the LoftyFiber Raddle for Louet Looms. This new 2024 version works on the 8 and 16-shaft Jane looms.
Might give you some visual prompts to illuminate the PDF your have.
I did discard this video (or another that was using the same helping tools) because seemed to presuppose the use of the helping hands but on a second view it may be anyway usefull.
Thank you :) ♥
Hello Paola - in my limited experience, the steps to follow in warping the Jane are basically the same as those shown by Jane for warping the loom in Season 1. As for the warping rod, I really don’t understand why Louet do not just supply one of these with each loom! It is a nuisance having to go looking for one separately. I actually ended up using a plastic rod I happened to have around…it doesn’t need to be really rigid since you will be lashing it on to the wooden slat that sits behind it ( see Jane doing this in Season 1). The handy thing about the Jane loom is that you can actually hold the warp chain with your left hand and maintain tension on it at the front of the loom while winding it onto the back beam with your right hand….assuming you haven’t got a really wide warp. I also use quite short lengths of paper while winding on, adding new pieces as I go. This avoids the issue of the paper going crooked or bunching up. Hope some of that is of help….but with the caveat that I myself am far from an expert!
