I would love to save my current warp and tie new warp onto it, later. How do I remove and store the warp? My next warp might need less threads, how can I keep track? Do people do this regularly? What are your thoughts?
dummy warp - how to remove from loom and store
Anne, please help me. Why would you like to do that?
I have a 452 end warp of white cotton-linen, which is a lot of cot-lin. I've used it a few times, tying new yarn onto it. I'd like to put something else onto the loom, but this worked really well and I wouldn't mind using this dummy warp again. However, once it goes off the loom I need to keep it contained. I've thought of turning it into a warp chain, and could store it that way?
Is this a dumb idea? Feel free to tell me if it is, that is why I am here - to not create trouble for myself.
It turned out that the warp was only about a yard long, and - tied in groups at the top and bottom - turned out to be easy to wrangle. I folded them and put into a drawer, we will see if I use them. That warp sure looked more challenging, on the loom!
