Hello
I am SO frustrated at the moment and feel like throwing my Louet Jane table loom out the window! I have been doing reasonably well reminding myself to be patient and ‘learn from my mistakes’ etc etc but there IS a limit!
I have dressed the loom with an 8/2 cotolin warp, 396 ends, 20 epi. I tied the warp onto the apron bar after slaying the reed etc. The tension on the warp seemed fine…..but then I put down levers 1 and 3 to start the first few rows of weft to separate out the warp threads and …..all the lower warp threads were completely soggy. I suppressed a strong desire to scream….tried tightening the warp (which is threaded over the back beam)…and thought things had improved a bit, only to notice that now the top bar of the frames that had been raised were bowing downwards due to the tension on the warp threads going through the heddles. I really am fed up and wish I could just magic an experienced weaver into the room to show me what I assume is a straightforward solution to this problem. For the moment, I am just going to give up as it is too stressful to keep at it when I haven’t a clue what to do. HELP!!
Been there, done that. You have no IDEA how many errors I made warping my parrot gamp. The last error was the same as yours: forgot to go over the back beam before winding on the warp beam. It's an easy fix: if your back beam is removeable, unhook it, lift it out , under the warp in front of the warp beam and then put it back in place: ta-da! Mine was harder as the back beam is not removable, so I had to unhook the warp beam and lift it up and over the back beam before putting it back in place,
