It looks to me like I am missing a warp rod. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Thank you.

Michell...isn't the metal rod hanging off the back the warp rod?? I'm confused here.

Thanks Cheryl. You might be right. But it appeared to me in the videos that Jane’s loom had an apron rod and warping rod in addition to the warp beam.
My new-to-me loom was also missing a warp rod, only coming with an apron rod. I went to Home depot and bought a 4 ft long 1/4" aluminum rod for about $7. This size will fit through the eye in a piece of Texsolv cord for the trick that Jane shows in Season 1 Episode 2. Once lashed on it doesn't bend and is quite sturdy.
Thank you Pete! I wasn’t sure if I was missing a warp rod or just not “seeing” it. I am going to follow your lead and go find a warp rod. Take care.
Good idea I have a chrome rod but it can be too heavy for fine warps so will switch it out
I just bought a David 3 and needed a warping rod. The one on my old table loom is to short. Found a carbon rod. They are incredibly strong, light weight and come in all sizes both hollow and solid. You can get them online.
I use the sectional warp beam on my David...but now that you mention it....there was a metal warp rod for the back beam...duh
My warping rod in bending too much while winding on. I have used texsolve cord as suggested on each end
Any suggestions?
I know my warping rod is bending too much because because now my rod is permanently bent and I am unable to weave to the end of my warp.
Perry, make sure that when you are lashing the warp rod to the rod inserted in your actual warp that the the lashing just barely extends past the width of the warp. Otherwise the part of the rod covered by warp threads will bend as tension is tightened as there are no threads covering and supporting the edges of the rod.
Thank you I know that will fix it
Perry, did you lash apron and warp rod together as reenforcement as Jane shows in Ep 1.2.1 ( start around min 25 )?
I made my warprod from a solid carbon rod. 6mm so it fits in a texolve hole. Smooth, lightweight and very rigid. It’s easy to cut using a small saw. Next get a cheap pencil sharpener and cues it at the ends of the rod just you would a pencil. Beautiful smooth edges and easier to insert in the texolve.
Karin - does the carbon rod flex? Wondering if I should get a steel or a carbon rod....
