S1-Episode 1 - Making a Good Warp

I am having tension problems.
I use a warping board and cannot get more than about 160 threads of 8/2 cotton on it at a time so end up with two or three sections of warp. I find it difficult to wind these on at the same tension either with someone holding them together or placing under a heavy book. So far I seem to have just about got away with it. However I’ve just put on 380 threads of 8/2 bamboo and started weaving. One side is definitely looser than the other! Is there anything I can do to mitigate the situation?
(I have just completed weaving the plaid sample in Season 2 and am adventuring ‘off piste’ to make some fabric for a baby’s jacket.]
Any suggestions welcome!
Thank you, Mary
