Hello,
I broke two warp ends while dressing the loom, still in the warp-to-loom stage, before threading the heddles or sleying the reed. I need 56 blue bouclé ends in this section but now have 54.
Can I just add the two replacement ends at the edge of the section rather than trying to splice them in at the break point? I'm new to weaving, so apologies if this is an obvious question. Thanks for any input!
Hi Lisa,
You could add two new threads and have them hanging at the back of the loom with some weights. Have you had a chance to watch Jane at the loom with new replacement threads hanging with two cones at the back of the loom in the Asymmetry Sample? It's this video around the 34:00 mark. You would need to unravel from the cones as you advance your warp. https://www.schoolofweaving.tv/season-2-episode-2-more-on-division-of-space/videos/2-2-3-introduction-to-sample-one
Are the two broken threads close to each other where you can add both hanging together?
