I would like to organize my stash efficiently. It is growing significantly since I started ordering yarns to use for classes. The cones are bulky and I am running out of space. Keeping similar yarns in boxes, but then I lose track of what is kept where. Help! What is everyone doing?

I keep my yarns organized by type in plastic bins with a stick-on label identifying content eg. 2/8 cotton and
have square grid-type containers that you assemble to hold the bins, 2 bins to a cube.

I organize my weaving yarn by weight and content (8/2 cotton, Harrisville wool) and my knitting yarn by color and my roving by just labeling bins roving. Once yarn is spun, it goes into the knitting yarn bins by color.

When our local video store closed down many moons ago, they sold everything but the kitchen sink. We picked up some of their VHS shelves that are 6 inches deep and the 8/2 cotton cones fit perfectly laying on their sides. I organize them by the colour wheel. I can see how many I have, what I'm running low of.
My other yarns are in baskets or small clear bins. I seem to be collection alot of baskets :)
