I am working on the Asymmetry project, and I'm encountering issues on one of my selvedges. I don't expect it to be perfect, but I'm just not sure what it is I've got wrong here. They look fine --- if imperfect --- on the other edge.

There's a definite slope down, and then you can see gaps where I'm trying to adjust, but I know that I shouldn't be having to fiddle with it so. Help?

Yes, I looked at that page, and can eliminate some of the things listed there as issues. My bobbins are not catching or giving me grief, my sequence is good, and I'm not weaving close to the beater... though I wonder if I could be weaving too far from it?

I could spend some more time looking at what I'm doing differently with my two hands, for sure. I might have legitimate tension problems, because I had a difficult time with my warp---but it seems pretty evenly tensioned to me at this point.

I think one thing I'm feeling unsure about is what exactly this problem is, so that I can solve for what's causing the problem, if that makes sense. Could this be too little draw-in? I don't see loops on the selvedges, just that downturn in the weft.

How even is your tension across your warp?

It seems fairly even, although when I open the shed, the top is under firm tension and the bottom seems kind of mushy.

I do think that it would help if you tightened the tension on your warp. You need it to be somewhat firm - when you’re lifting 2 shafts for plain weave, the 2 remaining shafts should have a firm surface for your shuttle to glide on. I know it’s hard to tell exactly what you need but …… remember you are learning and understanding all the little nuances that I’ll bet in 6 months - if not before - warping will have become second nature to you!
