At the risk of sounding like a complete moron, I'm trying to set up my treadles on my new David3. Currently I have the middle two treadles threaded up with 1,3,5,7 on one and 2,4,6,8 on the other as suggested in the Louet guide to setting up the shafts. My what-may-be- moronic question is.... what do I do with the rest of the treadles? I am completely new to using a floor loom. Do I just leave them unattached? Or can I attach them in such a way to be ready to do twill when I get more experienced? Louet recommend warping up using all 8 shafts in order to be able to do the final tweak on shaft and shed openings.
