How do I convert the tieup on my 8 shaft parallel countermarche loom to weave deflected double weave designed for jack loom?
Adapting tieup for on a 8 shaft Hollandia
Hi
Tie up the rising sheds to the lower lams as they will rise like a jack loom and tie up the blanks to the upper lams as they will sink.
I hope this helps
Regards
Chris
Hi Chris, thank you for your response! I have already tried your recommendation, however, the draft requires I need to treadle two at a time-(deflected double weave) which apparently won’t work (?) on the parallel countermarche system - only permits 1 treadle action at a time. I have attempted the “skeleton tie-up” Jane mentioned regarding advice for a 4-shaft countermarche, but I failed to get any shed. Any other suggestions?
Hi Linda
You don't have to treadle two treadles at once. You treadle 1 then 2 then 1 and 2 for block A.
For block B you treadle 3 then 4 then 3 and 4. For block C you treadle 5 then 6 and 5 and 6.
For block D you treadle 7 then 8 and 7 and 8.
Thanks Chris - I will try that!
Linda. It does work as i have a 8 shaft countermarch loom. On each treadle tie up what threads are going up on your lower lams and the remaining threads will obviously go down which will be tied to your upper lams. Do this for each treadle and then treadle as I mentioned before.
