Hi, I’m a very new weaver and have a challenge that I just can’t figure out. I have a LeClerc Voyager 8 harness table top loom. When I toss the shuttle it keeps falling down through my warp. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or how to fix this. Please help!
My boat shuttle keeps falling through my warp
When I had a loom without a shuttle race I placed a lease stick under the warp at the front of the reed and tied it to the reed. The lease stick does have a hole in each end so it makes the job easy. Put two threads on each side. Place one thread through the reed and bring it forward over the top of the reed and tie the other thread to it. Keep the lease stick straight just under the warp. This gives the shuttle a small ledge to slide over without diving to the floor. I hope this helps.
See thread on DIY shuttle race for Jane loom for how I got round a similar problem
The Voyager 24" now ships with a shuttle race. You could check out/email t Camilla Valley website (easier than the leClerc website) and see if you can buy one to fit yours or if you can copy it by examining the photos.
