The Octado loom is a rising shed loom. The moving mechanism on the Octado is not at all like the Spring which is a true counter-marche loom with 2 sets of lamms. Having said all that, the Octado has the same wonderful shed as the Spring loom, it has all the other fabulous features that the Spring loom has. It only has one treadle. When you depress the treadle the shafts that have been pegged on the dobby or selected by the electronic interface rise, when you let the treadle down it signals the dobby device to move to the next pick.
