First of all, I know about weighing errant warp threads, but I am wondering why I suddenly have several very loos warp threads in my blanket warp. I can't find anything broken between the front and the back beams, but there are a bunch of very loose treads. Fortunately I am near the end, but I can't figure out why this is happening. I discovered it when my shuttle was catching and diving. Any clues, or a solution? I already have some of them hanging with hooks and washers to keep them in line, but now there are more. Argh.
And yes, this is the double weave blanket from hell.

LOL, Sandra. Yes, it's near the end, but I put a lot of extra warp on so not near the VERY end.

And I don't think I tied in any at that end. I can see your point on that, that maybe they came untied?

I wanted to make sure I had enough length to properly full it. I have close to 100" in woven length and it is 30 " wide, hopefully 60ish when I open it up. I will be a happy person if when it is fulled, I end up with at least 50ish by 80ish. I plan on testing some of the extra bits before fulling the final blankie, as it is to be a gift.

Oh my!!!!!! You do have some corralling to do - are they just loose our trying to fly free? If just loose - you could use Jane’s Supplementary Warp technique to see if that works. Flying free means a lot more weights. 🤪 My fingers are crossed until you get as far as you need to on that warp. Keep us posted!

As far as I could tell they were just loose. I ended the blanket and cut it off from the front though, because there is still a lot of warp left over and I don't want to waste it. So I am going to re-sley it, and even try a 10 dent instead of the 6. It will be an opportunity to compare, and maybe e get some kitty blankets in the process. Our cats love this yarn! Which reminds me that I may have to blame them for the looseness. While I was weaving, on of them jumped up on the back! LOL. They are never in the room without supervision, but she may gave done the damage sneakily because she is a stealth cat.

Will you do this second one double weave too?

Yep. I’ve got about 3” so far and it’s going well. It’s now 27” in the reed instead of 30”.
Since it’s a closer sett, I’m thinking I won’t full it as much.

I just this minute finished the fringe on the first one, so it’s time for its bath. 😀🎉
