I just Googled 8/2 cotton and UK and came up with several sources. The Fibrehut and Weavingyarn.co.uk. That was with a quick search - hopefully, someone else will chime in.

Hi Chris- I usually buy my 8/2 cotton from Weavingyarn.co.uk (business recently transferred from My Fine Weaving Yarns) - they have a good range and can match to Jane's range for the projects.
Handweavers Studio https://www.handweavers.co.uk carry a good range, and several places carry the Venne range. Depends where you are in the country - fairly local to me is Freya Jones near Aylesbury https://www.freyajones.com - it's always good to see the colours in real life rather than on screen, and to support a local weaver in her business. I wondered what happened to My Fine Weaving yarns !!
I get yarns from ebay but the sizes are all wrong. Thank you for your response . I will get ordering tomorrow . I live in Canvey Island, Essex and there is not one weaving shop to be seen.
