Not sure where to ask a question on the new site,
I am starting the monte cristo boucle baby blanket. My question is I have no access to a 8 dent reed, as called for. Would I be better using a 6 dent reed or a 10 dent reed. I do not want to adapt to the size of the dent because of the threading not being consistent.

The spacing you suggested 0-1-1 makes total sense for keeping the epi 8. What gets confusing is the pattern states;

sley one end per dent for 44dents. Leave one empty dent. Sley the two ends threaded together in one dent. Leave one empty dent. Repeat this sequence four more times. End with 44 ends, one per dent.

I am pretty sure the empty dents 0-1-1- would not match up with the listed pattern above. So I am thinking that if I just follow your suggestion 0-1-1 with one thread. I could just do plain weave and it should be a nice baby blanket, So I would not follow the pattern with it's warp sequence. or threading sequence. I realize I am simplifying this pattern.

Thank you sooo much for your clear explanations. I was getting frustrated over trying to convert the pattern to a 10 dent reed.

I finished the baby blanket!!! It is beautiful. I can't wait to give it to my niece. I am not sure how to add picture. But if I figure it out , I will put it up on the comments
