What does the word Against mean in each of the 17 samples of weft faced exercises? Such as
Sheds 1 & 3 against 2 & 4?

Hi
Against just means the other shafts or opposite shafts. The opposite of 1 and 3 would be 2 and 4. The opposite of 1 would be 2 3 and 4 etc etc.
