I am planning a project that will have warp stripes that use different weave structures with different rates of warp-to-weft interlacement. As weaving progresses I anticipate tension issues due to differing takeup rates between the two structures. Is there a better way to manage anticipated warp tension differences than hanging weights off the back of the loom or creating a supplemental warp?
I am an experienced weaver but, after watching the first 2 School of Weaving seasons, I realize there are better thought out and more efficient approaches to many of the weaving challenges I have faced. Though the methods I have been taught or hacks I have come up with work, it makes me wonder whether there are more elegant solutions available for many of the situations I have encountered. Is there a better way to approach this issue?
