I am fairly new to weaving and just finished the season 2 colour and weave gamp. Everything looked even on the loom but after cutdown I saw that the fabric turned more and more uneven towards the end of the warp.

Both selvedges are good looking and the height of the fabric are even at the selvedges, but somehow it is a bit U-curved towards the middle.

What happened? Did I mess up the warping, tie-up or have I done something while weaving?

Hi Stina, I’m guessing that the tension on the centre of your warp isn’t the same as your edges. It’s easy to do and that’s why Jane shows how to walk your hand across your warp as you are tying on. There are so many little steps in the process of warping your loom - I promise these steps will soon become just part of the process and you’ll do them without thinking!

It is much less noticeable now after washing, but still good to know what probably caused it so I can try to avoid it next time
