Hello! I have an old leclerc counter balance loom. I am pretty sure it is a Fanny, the back beam is hinged to fold in. After watching the season 1 episode on Looms I realized some of the issues I have been having getting a good shed. Now that I have that sorted I am considering swapping out the old wire heddles for texsolv. The old heddles are bent and I have had issues with them cutting some of my warp threads.
Are texsolv heddles recommended for this style of loom?
If so can you confirm that the 11”/280mm heddles are correct for my loom. Also how many should I buy, it is 45” and 4 shafts. I think it currently has about 300 heddles on each shaft but 1200 seems like over kill. I am a new weaver and so far have only done some tea towels and a couple of lap blankets but I would like whatever upgrades I do to have the ability to cover all of this loom’s potential.
Thanks!
