Greetings weavers. I think this is going to be a dumb question but here I go... I am having a real problem trying to decipher the instructions for scarf #2 Page 5. I understand 6 picks PW Then it says 13 picks DL I assume this is PW all though it doesn't say. Then it says Huck Lace block A and Hucklace block B. There is nothing in the treadling that corresponds to this. Then is says Huck Lace (no block) What does this correspond to??? I have tried to compare this to the Mother of All Tie-ups which I have used with no problem. But this leaves me stumped
Hi Jean, there are no dumb questions, and here is the clarification:
So, with Huck, you always have to alternate the A and B blocks, otherwise the floats will be too long. you are alternating the two lace blocks at the bottom of page 2.
6 picks plain weave with hemstitching across the first two picks
1. the treadling for the scarf is: 13 picks DL in plain weave ending with D
2. Huck Lace alternating Block A and Block B, with the 5 pick colour order LLDLL
3. 12 picks DL in plain weave
4. Huck lace, alternating block A and Block B with the five picks in the A block DLLLD and the five picks in B block LDDDL
5. 13 picks LD in plain weave
6. Huck Lace alternating Block A and Block B, with the 5 pick colour order DDLDD
7. 13 picks LD in plain weave ending L
end 6 picks plain weave in one colour with hemstitching across the last two picks.
