has anyone tried this pattern from Summer & Winter Simply ?
I am trying but failing on the ears of the Bunnies!
I have studied the text and the instructions and everything is looking fine until the ears section when multiple treadling starts. the pattern(or my Understanding ) goes wrong. I may be missing an essential technical element in the summer and weaving structure.
I have copied the draft into both Fiberworks and iWeaveit and it is wrong on there too.
There is no separation between the two ears and in that section the colour widens out from the width of the head.
Any ideas please.

Paul - just took a quick look at your situation.
On the Bunny ears treadling section try only treadling the shafts 7 & 8 and NOT treadling shafts 1 & 2 with them (that is not multiple treadles simultaneously).
Should work out OK I think.
Gook luck.
Thank you so much.
I think you are closer to the answer than I was.
If I treadle 8, tabby,7, tabby then I do get separation of the ears,- but they come out wider than the head section so it quite sweetly looks like a cross between a bunny and Mickey Mouse!
In my inexperience /ignorance, I am unclear as to why shafts 1 and 7 , and the 2 and 8,are drafted together in this section of the pattern.
Do I disregard shafts 1 & 2 and treadle as mentioned above: 8, tabby, 7 tabby or am I still missing something?
I am most grateful for your help
I am thinking that it is a printing errata.
If you go into your weaving software and just treadle shaft 8, tabby, shaft 7, etc and only those, and disregard shafts 1 & 2 - I think the Bunny might come bouncing back 😃
Of course I haven't gone over the whole draft with a fine toothed comb and I might have still missed something; but in the main I think that there has been a printing error which has not been picked up (bet you that moments after the book was printed, someone spotted it - it is also very possible that you might have been the first Paul).
Have played with the draft and I think if you add the tabby into you software, you will find that the bunny is a lot more visible than being Micky Mouse.
This is an image with the tabby inserted but no thick and thin.

This is the image without the added tabby.

(I have also just realised that these images are of the backside of the cloth - sorry, a lot going on here and I forgot to correct it - but you get the gist).
I might add that this is a slightly altered draft where I have tried to smooth out the transition into the ears.
Hi,
What you have achieved is what I had reached using tabby myself.
It is frustrating as I see a post of a review by a user on Cotton Clouds (who can supply a kit) has achieved a beautiful line of Bunnies with slender ears just the same width as the heads of the bunnies.
I will keep playing around but if anyone has any ideas I would be delighted to hear back.
In the meantime Diane, thank you for your kindness in trying to help.
I do appreciate it.
Sorry that it fell short of an answer for you.
Happy weaving.
I seem to have resolved it.
I had reversed the tie up for my sinking shed David 3.
When I went back and did the tie up as drawn in the draft i.e. for a rising shed loom, and followed the draftexactly as drawn it worked fine, albeit I am seeing the back side as I weave.
For the ears I treadled 8 and 2 together followed by tabby, then 1 and 7 together, then tabby and it has worked fine both in Fiberworks and in the weaving.
I doubled the pattern thread to give a stronger image and this worked too.
Obviously I would prefer to see the front side as I weave, but the reversing of the tie up that usually works fine did not work this time.
Anyway it was very kind of you to try and help. I wish I could post a screenshot of the Fiberworks draft but that skill evades me as well!
Best Wishes Paul
Yes your right.
The design is different if in rising shed or sinking shed.
Changed my view and hey ho the bunny has long ears.
Very strange.
(I just realised that I shouldn't really post the screenshot of the pattern draft as it probably would infringe on copyright - so I deleted it)
