I warp back to front using raddle cross and raddle. I just finished warping 6 yards for season 2 episode 10, primaries and secondaries camp. I warped my loom and have no threading error nor twisted yarns from heddle to dent. After starting to weave I’ve noticed I have several sections where it appears the warp yarns are twisted between the back beam and the heddles As a new weaver I’m not sure if this is a problem and just keep weaving since every thing is ok between the heddle and dent. Or do I have to fix now. Thanks for advice.
Hi Nancy - it sounds to me like the order hasn't been maintained as you threaded your raddle from your cross. That is absolutely essential if you are going to have a usable warp. Did you carefully put your secured cross through the bottom rod and then slip your lease sticks through each section of the cross? Your threads have to travel from the warping rod, in a straight line to the the front beam. Are your blocks of colour and black in the order that they should be at the warp beam? I suspect that if they are, then you will only have to deal with the threads in the problem sections. If that's the case - you'll need to take a deep breath, and slowly sort out and re-thread those sections, until each thread is on clear, orderly path from the back beam to the front of the loom. Before you do that, it might help to rewatch Season 1 Episode 2. Don't be discouraged - every single one of us has had a warping error - including Jane ;-) Fingers crossed and let us know if you've happily sorted your problem.....
