I'm so glad to have finally jumped in and joined this wonderful guild...thank you for having me! Is there anyone who can help me understand the problem I'm encountering on an 8 harness baby Macomber Loom? I have it tied up for a twill and on one shed, the seventh harness pops off the slot that holds the jack...just everyone once in a while. I don't seem to be treadling any harder than normal when it pops off and I don't see that the tie up is different. All of the joins are oiled and functioning well...the problem simply causes me to grumble, get off the bench, kneel down in the back and slip the jack back into the slot on the lower shaft.

I wish I could help but I’ve never woven in a Macomber loom 😔 Have you tried phoning the company that manufactured your loom. Let us know if you were able to get an answer….. AND welcome to the School of Weaving - we’re happy to have you onboard, Astrig and enjoy the “ride”!
