Hi,
I am tying a hand painted warp to a dummy warp to minimize the amount of waste of my special warp. This is my first time using a dummy warp. It would be helpful to have an idea of the amount of waste there will be with this method. How close can one typically weave to the point where the two warps have been tied?
Thanks so much.
Judy
So much depends on the loom you are using. You will basically be able to weave as long as you can get a shed to either hemstitch your cloth or allow for a long fringe.. Your dummy warp will get you very close to your back heddles. Hopefully, others with more experience with dummy warps will pipe in and comment. Personally, I'd love to see photos of what you are weaving or have woven.......
