I am thinking of buying a countermarch looms but I don't quite know the difference between a vertical countermarch or an horizontal countermarch. Could anyone please let me know if I buy an horizontal countermarch where it sits on top of the loom does that mean the tie up cords from the countermarch go right through the warp to the lamms. I bought a conversion kit a few years ago so a table loom could become a floor loom and the cords went right through the warp. Warp threads used to get hooked on the cords that caused errors in the weaving and I don't want that again. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Chris - here is an article from the JST Knowledge Base on the differences between a vertical counter-marche and the Louet parallel counter-marche loom. Hope this helps.
You might also look up the Glimakra website. They discuss both types.
If you are on Ravelry, track down Joanne Hall or maybe post on Warped Weavers or one of the loom sites?
