You are not rabbel rousing at all! I welcome comments and critique . As I titled this post, this is a radical fix, if you can get a clean shed that is big enough for your purposes by the usual means that is preferred. I hope it is apparent that I am not incompetent and am very familiar with loom mechanics, (which is why I bought the David loom, I loved the idea of the mechanism ) I tried every suggested video and pdf published by Louët and I could not get the loom working properly. I truly believe that my loom was built incorrectly, they are hand made (with CNC help I’m sure) and I ordered my model in the first shipment. It is possible that holes were drilled in the wrong place… a half an inch can make all the difference. I have also noticed after posting this that most people who have this same issue have the 110 cm model as I do. People with the smaller looms don’t have as much of a problem with their shed. I find that very interesting.
Either way I have no problem altering my loom in ways that help it work. You can try this solution by moving the board up and not drilling the top hole to test it, which is what I did. I have installed lights, an imperial raddle , a tempo treadle system, a sectional warp beam and more because I think that if I’m spending the money I have the right to make it work as I see fit.
I can’t wait to see this video that Dave will make, I’m curious if he will do anything that I didn’t try. Until then I’m happy to weave with the bigger cleaner shed I have now.
