Hello all
When I tie on an 8/2 cotton warp to the apron rod in pairs of 8 + 8 threads sleyed at 2 per dent using the ‘surgeons knot’, the knot doesn’t seem to hold really securely, possibly due to a slippiness in the yarn. I am definitely making the knot correctly. As a result, I tend to secure it with an additional bow. However, I know Jane does not do this, and probably many of you don’t. Can you give me any advice on how to avoid the additional step of tying a bow, while still avoiding any loosening/ slippage of the surgeons knot. I presume those surgeons sewing up their patients manage without bows?! Thanks.
